Our extended family (13 of us) were looking for a great place to celebrate my Father's 75th birthday and my wife was lucky enough to stumble across the Mare Blue website. The spectacular pictures on the web site convinced us that this would be a perfect location, but believe me that they can't come close to capturing the true beauty and magic of this wonderful villa. We had committed to rent the villa and the transaction was completed, but once the owner knew that the entire trip was to celebrate my father's birthday, she was so helpful and kind; she basically became our travel agent and helped make all the plans as simple as possible for us. We had such an unbelievable stay at the Mare Blue. The views are amazing, and the house is spectacular. We couldn't have asked for more. PERFECT LOCATION FOR TWO FAMILIES OR MULTIPLE COUPLES! We stayed here the week of July 4th. We could not have been happier.The house has everything: infinity pool, tv's everywhere (although we rarely used them, we would rather look out at the ocean), fully appointed kitchen, including ice maker, multiple stoves and dishwashers. Amazing The house was amazing and we loved that there were so many fans to keep you comfortable during afternoons in the outdoor living spaces, and they have the comfiest beds for the best naps. I have just returned from a week in Paradise! I travelled with a group of 6 couples to Mare Blue in May of 2018. We were a little nervous, being post-hurricane, but I have to say Mare Blu was exactly as I had remembered from my first visit in 2014. The villa is beautiful, and perfectly appointed for a group of 12. The people of St John were welcoming and the beaches beautiful. We took advantage of so much...diving trips, fishing trips, island hopping and of course shopping! My advise is to go and enjoy all the island has to offer. Mare Blu proved to be the perfect home for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving 2015. We have visited St. John before, and this trip was by far the most memorable and luxurious. The villa was close enough to town but far enough to provide seclusion and a gorgeous view of the bay. The villa itself was very well appointed from the kitchen to entertainment, offering everything you might need. I was able to easily prepare meals that we enjoyed around the large dining table. The second outdoor kitchen area and outdoor fridge drawers were terrific. The spacious guest suites allowed everyone to retreat to their own space if they wanted privacy or alone time. There was ample room for our family of 9 adults! The beautiful pool was also a huge hit. Teri was wonderful to work with and always answered my questions promptly. Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at Mare Blu. This was our 5th trip to St. John with a group of 10 people. Mare Blu is easily the most serene, equipped, modern and luxurious villa we've visited. From the library of DVD's, to the outdoor grill and seating areas, to the gourmet kitchen and wonderful no chlorine infinity pool, every thing was top rate. Teri and Bernie, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. It was the perfect place for our family, which included our children and grandchildren, to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. Each family had their own wing to escape to after a long day at the beach or play time in the beautiful pool. They especially enjoyed the optional outdoor shower. The gathering place each morning was the outdoor kitchen, where we enjoyed breakfast at the large table while looking at the ocean. One evening we hired a personal chef who cooked us a birthday celebration dinner and served it in the outdoor kitchen as well. We also hired a steel drum player. The indoor kitchen has everything you need, including two dishwashers an oversize refrigerator and a beautiful sink that had a window which again overlooked the ocean. There was also an outdoor TV room which was next to the pool. It had two oversized chairs and a beverage cooler which made it very convenient for keeping our drinks of "choice" cold. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse Club while standing in the pool. (What a life!). The bathroom was also part of this great area so there was no need to walk into the house. We also enjoyed gathering here in the evening where we would pull chairs around and watch movies outside. This was probably our favorite room. If you needed a space to escape for some quiet time there was the beautiful indoor living room which included a large balcony. Here we could enjoy our coffee in the morning or a quiet glass of wine in the evening away from the activity in the pool area. Of course during any vacation doing laundry is a must. I must admit doing laundry was a joy especially when doing it in a well stocked laundry room and again with a beautiful view of the ocean. I'm just looking over the photo album of my daughter's wedding, last August, and Mare Blu was the absolute highlight of our week. We hosted 25 people every evening for a party where everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were able to do our own cooking, the views are breathtaking, and most of the guests just wanted to hang around the pool. The Westin Hotel took care of the wedding ceremony and reception but everything else was at Mare Blu. It would be my first choice for vacation or any kind of celebration at any time of the year. We remain so grateful to the owners of the house for their generosity. It was even more spectacular than we imagined and one of the highlights of our entire lives! Since 6 couples chipped in, the cost was much less than the local hotels and we did not have to eat out every night. My family will definitely go back to St. John, specifically for Mare Blu. I cannot think of one thing I would change about Mare Blu, not only does it live up to the pictures on the website but it's even more spectacular in person. When I first arrived it literally took my breathe away. The layout of the house is perfect for a group of people; the bedrooms are all equal each with spectacular views. The owners have done a sumptuous job of equipping the house, every time I wanted something it was at my fingertips. We spent all of our time in the beautiful outdoor living area, it was spacious enough for everyone to gather and enjoy each other's company and still feel as one group. Villa was perfect for our family. The villa was beautiful and fully met and exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our children and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy time together and areas to get away and read.
