PERFECTION!!! If we were told we could use only one word to describe our experience at Mare Blu, it would be perfect! The owners have successfully incorporated the beauty, colors and cheerfulness of the Carribean in every room of this incredibly thoughtout house. Comfort and uniqueness abound in the decor, each room is amazingly private, yet there are incredible open and inviting areas for gatherings, all with the most incredible views. Every detail has been provided for, and once you've done a little grocery shopping, you literally do not ever have to leave the house. The location is a huge plus-everything is within easy driving distance. Teri Ackerman, the owner of Mare Blu, is the best. She is extremely competent and easy to work with. Her understanding of families and how memories are made are reflected in the design of her villa. The kitchen, grilling area, dining area and gathering space all followed together as one beautiful family area which then seamlessly flowed to the deck and pool (what a great pool). I would be grilling and having a conversation with my wife Debby in the kitchen, turn and talk to my daughter at the dining room table as she showed me photos from the days dive, turn just a little more and watch my grandson in the pool. It does not get any better than that. Yet Teri created a place of sanctuary in each bedroom. They are spacious and almost mini suites as there is setting areas in each bedroom. Teri left no stone unturned in equipping the villa with top of the line appliances. Her ice maker keep ahead of 12 people. Enough dishes, glasses etc. to meet the needs of a group of 20 or more. I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. It was quiet so it was easy to concentrate. The property was carefully designed with the highest level of finishes both inside and out. It is impeccably maintained. My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. Since the Saints were losing it helped that we could grab a beer out of the refrigerated drawer under the TV four steps from the pool. See what I mean about thoughtful details!! Read More...

Perfect Spot for Hosting our Dream Wedding The unsung hero award goes to Teri and Mare Blu. Not only did it make for the most picturesque backdrop for our wedding ceremony but our guests were in awe at beautiful and functional the villa was. Location was perfect for the sunset wedding ceremony as well as easy access to and from for our guests staying in and around Cruz Bay. Teri was not only active making sure the villa was in perfect condition for our visit but she was also a great resource for the months leading up to the wedding with recommendations for reliable jeep rental( Mr. Piper's) and restaurant recommendations. The layout of the space was ideal for any situation. We were able to host a 23 person rehearsal dinner with a long family style table in the great outdoor space. My brothers roasted us with a slideshow on the TV by the pool. All were able to huddle around and observe. Then we hosted a 37 person ceremony down on the lawn. Mare Blu proved to be the perfect home for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving 2015. We have visited St. John before, and this trip was by far the most memorable and luxurious. The villa was close enough to town but far enough to provide seclusion and a gorgeous view of the bay. The villa itself was very well appointed from the kitchen to entertainment, offering everything you might need. I was able to easily prepare meals that we enjoyed around the large dining table. The second outdoor kitchen area and outdoor fridge drawers were terrific. The spacious guest suites allowed everyone to retreat to their own space if they wanted privacy or alone time. There was ample room for our family of 9 adults! The beautiful pool was also a huge hit. Teri was wonderful to work with and always answered my questions promptly. Thanks to Teri and Bernie for sharing their beautiful home with us. I would highly recommend Mare Blu and hopefully will stay there again when we visit St. John. Read More...

Hi, just had to drop you a note to tell you how much we all LOVED your villa last week. Have been coming to St. John for 24 years, we LOVE the island and must say your home was the best EVER!! We were a group of six couples (family) and we were just blown away by the attention to every detail in your beautiful home!!! Best Family vacation ever. Shout out to Ellis who was incredibly responsive whenever we needed him, he is so great. Also, your kitchen is the best I have ever seen!!!! btw, your landscape is to die for, just spectacular!!!I could ramble on for pages about how much and why we loved Mare Blu, but suffice it to say, it is FABULOUS and crossing our fingers we can hit the repeat button next year!!!!Many Thanks Read More...

Our group (9 friends) stayed at Mare Blu in May 2015. We had a fantastic time and Teri was very helpful before the trip in arranging activities, a private chef, and taxi transfers. The villa is beautiful, with every amenity you could want - beer fridge by the pool was a big hit, as was the outdoor Ts! Check in was very easy and professional, taking no more than 15mins or so. The house was immaculate and perfectly arranged for a large group. There is so much space that we all felt very comfortable and relaxed there. The pictures are exactly as shown on the website and the house location is perfect. Far enough from town to have beautiful, untouched views across the island, yet close enough for a 10min taxi ride into the center of town. The northern beaches were also not that far away maybe 15-20mins in total. Chicos Taxi (Mitch Samuel at 340-690-6507) was on call for us the entire time and always just a phone call away. Chef Johnny B (jrbluzbag@yahoo.com) was fantastic and the food was cooked at the villas professional indoor/outdoor kitchen to perfection. The villa has every single thing a professional chef needs, and easily caters to large groups looking for a relaxing night overlooking the stunning views. Checkout was also easy, with a wonderful cleaning crew arriving exactly on time. We couldnt have been happier with our stay at Mare Blu and would be happy to act as a reference for any future guests. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. So many great and comfortable locations to relax and take in the sunrise and sunset or get some sun or shade. I cannot say enough great things about this home and can NOT wait to return. Read More...
