Our extended family (13 of us) were looking for a great place to celebrate my Father's 75th birthday and my wife was lucky enough to stumble across the Mare Blue website. The spectacular pictures on the web site convinced us that this would be a perfect location, but believe me that they can't come close to capturing the true beauty and magic of this wonderful villa. We had committed to rent the villa and the transaction was completed, but once the owner knew that the entire trip was to celebrate my father's birthday, she was so helpful and kind; she basically became our travel agent and helped make all the plans as simple as possible for us. We had such an unbelievable stay at the Mare Blue. The views are amazing, and the house is spectacular. We couldn't have asked for more. Our group (9 friends) stayed at Mare Blu in May 2015. We had a fantastic time and Teri was very helpful before the trip in arranging activities, a private chef, and taxi transfers. The villa is beautiful, with every amenity you could want - beer fridge by the pool was a big hit, as was the outdoor Ts! Check in was very easy and professional, taking no more than 15mins or so. The house was immaculate and perfectly arranged for a large group. There is so much space that we all felt very comfortable and relaxed there. The pictures are exactly as shown on the website and the house location is perfect. Far enough from town to have beautiful, untouched views across the island, yet close enough for a 10min taxi ride into the center of town. The northern beaches were also not that far away maybe 15-20mins in total. Chicos Taxi (Mitch Samuel at 340-690-6507) was on call for us the entire time and always just a phone call away. Chef Johnny B (jrbluzbag@yahoo.com) was fantastic and the food was cooked at the villas professional indoor/outdoor kitchen to perfection. The villa has every single thing a professional chef needs, and easily caters to large groups looking for a relaxing night overlooking the stunning views. Checkout was also easy, with a wonderful cleaning crew arriving exactly on time. We couldnt have been happier with our stay at Mare Blu and would be happy to act as a reference for any future guests. PERFECT FAMILY VACATION AT MARE BLU ON ST. JOHN Our family of ten, age six months to sixtyish, enjoyed a perfect week on S. John at beautiful Mare Blu! This our first visit with the whole family since the hurricanes. It was gratifying to see that nature prevails as does the spirit of the people of St. John.We spent perfect days at Hawksnest, Francis, Trunk and our favorite Maho Bay with its turtles! We also added a new beach to our list, Hanson. Dinners at Morgan's Mango and lunches at The Tap Room and Skinny Legs were fun and delicious. Everyone LOVED Mare Blu! The villa is beautifully designed: elegant with attention to every detail yet comfortable and accommodating. There are specious living areas, indoors and out, lovely bedrooms, some with screened verandas and outdoor showers, all with splendid views looking out toward St. Croix. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor dining area were great for our breakfasts and some dinners. The swimming pool was wonderful for the children in the late afternoons and illuminated our evenings sometimes inviting late night swims. The location of the villa was private and quiet yet a convenient drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches. I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. It was quiet so it was easy to concentrate. The property was carefully designed with the highest level of finishes both inside and out. It is impeccably maintained. Mare Blu was amazing! Expectations were exceeded! You often wonder if it can be as great as the pictures. Mare Blu is amazing. The views would make any postcard jealous. The bedrooms were specious with their own luxurious bathrooms. The outdoor entertainment areas and the infinity pool made it hard to leave to go explore the spectacular island of St. John. Our week at Mare Blu with dear friends will top the list of vacations of a lifetime. We say that with all sincerity as frequent global travelers. The owners checked with us prior to and during our stay. our satisfaction was a priority for them. The concierge service/property management company was excellent. Pictures can't do this fabulous villa justice! Everything is absolutely perfect from the amazing lounge chairs by the infinity pool to the decor and artwork. This contemporary villa is made for relaxation in the best of style. The bedrooms are super comfortable, the linens are plush, each bedroom has its own private bath and doors you can open to feel the ocean breezes. The kitchens, both outdoor and indoor are expertly stocked with all necessities. The entertainment system is great and adds to the overall experience. One of our favorite things about Mare Blu is that from every room and the patio the view of the Caribbean is spectacular. We can't say enough about the vacation we had at Mare Blu. As if the fabulous house and great location on St. John isn't enough, the landscaping is awesome, too. We even had fresh limes from the tree in our drinks. Friends and I spent my 40th Birthday week celebration at Mare Blu and it was more than I ever expected!! St. John is my favorite Caribbean spot and this house tops all other stays in the past(villas, Caneel Bay, locations on St. Thomas). It was a shame that we did not have more people (we had 6) because we wanted to share the experience with the rest of our friends! The house is amazing with every amenity(we couldn't think of anything we were missing). A fabulous view and convenient to town. We fell in love with Mare Blu and will definitely be back!! In January, my husband and I spent a week at Mare Blu with several other couples. I was absolutely awestruck the first time I set foot in this striking vacation home. Everywhere you look there are spectacular ocean views framed in brilliant color by a rambling garden of native plants. These stunning views not only extended to our bedroom with the private screened porch but beyond to our luxurious bathroom with the outdoor shower. Every room is beautifully furnished and decorated yet sill inviting and comfortable. And you can't have too many cooks in the kitchen here. The kitchen is big, beautiful and has every imaginable moder convenience, including two dishwashers and every pot, pan, gadget, and utensil one could ever need or want..and then some. I loved this kitchen so much that it actually inspired me to bake on my vacation, an unprecedented event. At the center of Mare Blu is an enormous outdoor patio filled with cozy lounge chairs, chaises and couches We spent much of our time in this wonderful space...reading, swimming, eating and socializing while taking in the beauty of the Caribbean. My husband, beer in hand, found his personal heaven-on-earth while watching football on the outdoor big screen from a float in the pool. "It doesn't get better than this" he said. Every evening, we listened to music blended frozen drinks and gathered around the big patio dining table for our version of happy hour...happy hourZZZ! This is the ultimate vacation house. Mare Blu provided a beautiful, serene setting for our recent 50th anniversary celebration with family. The manager met us promptly upon arrival and made us immediately feel at home. The villa was luxurious and so well-appointed that it would be difficult to want anything more. The large outdoor dining and indoor living areas created an atmosphere in which our family was able to enjoy memorable conversations and meals together without interruptions. And, the opportunity to enjoy a cup of early-morning coffee on the patio or to swim under the stars in a pool overlooking the ocean was priceless. The downside of this trip was that it was far too short. A week just wasn't long enough to fully experience the beautiful scenery and uncrowded beaches that St. John has to offer. We stayed at Mare Blu with several friends and do not think it could have been more perfect. The villa is a short distance to town where we found great places to eat and to shop. The ocean views are spectacular from all the rooms and the outside living area. The kitchen is very special with every convenience imaginable. There are many special decorative details throughout the complex that are tastefully done to capture a modern yet tropical theme. The pool is definitely special and really like the no chlorine water.
