My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay at Mare Blu. This was our 5th trip to St. John with a group of 10 people. Mare Blu is easily the most serene, equipped, modern and luxurious villa we've visited. From the library of DVD's, to the outdoor grill and seating areas, to the gourmet kitchen and wonderful no chlorine infinity pool, every thing was top rate. SMARTLY DESIGNED, SPACIOUS, LUXURIOUS...MARE BLU HAS IT ALL The week I recently spent with friends at the Mare Blu Villa was one of the best vacations I've ever taken. Tucked away in a private corner of Rendezveau Bay, Mare Blu is just a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay, balancing accessibility and convenience with lavish seclusion. With six bedrooms and nearly 10,000 square feet of space, the resort comfortably accommodated our group of seven guests. I found the villa to have everything we needed, and we even elected to spend a couple days of our 8-day trip hanging out at Mare Blu instead of goin to one of the many neighboring beaches. Among the many smartly designed areas of the villa, I found the pool area to be my favorite part of the house. With a fridge, ice machine and HDTV located in an outdoor lounge area, we had access to everything we needed just a few steps away from the pool. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and uniquely themed with some of the rooms boasting outdoor showers. We cooked dinner several nights in the kitchen, which had modern top-of-the line appliances and a cozy outdoor dining area. We stayed at Mare Blu with several friends and do not think it could have been more perfect. The villa is a short distance to town where we found great places to eat and to shop. The ocean views are spectacular from all the rooms and the outside living area. The kitchen is very special with every convenience imaginable. There are many special decorative details throughout the complex that are tastefully done to capture a modern yet tropical theme. The pool is definitely special and really like the no chlorine water. This villa was the absolute perfect place to share our spring break with our friends. A bird's-eye view of Rendezvous ay made a beautiful backdrop for my morning coffee and relaxing with a book around the pool. Our kids had plenty of room to spread out, swim and enjoy movies in the outdoor television area. What can someone say who just had one of the greatest vacations of their entire life, besides "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart. My work life and career are incredibly exhausting. Being in the broadcast television business, there are no "off-days". Every single event we do is a moment in time that cannot be pushed back, extended or redone. The pressure, at times, can be overwhelming. Vacation for me has traditionally involved my family enjoying themselves with pool time, activities and relaxation. I spent the majority of my time on the phone, computer or conference calls. Not this trip. From the moment I walked down the stairs to your beautiful home, I felt every ounce of tension leave my body. The next seven days were nothing short of transformative for me. Every part of your home, from the pool to the kitchen to the outdoor shower, allowed me to completely "forget who I was" for a little while. An amazing feat that has never-before been accomplished! Justin was, well, amazing. His smile and welcoming presence on the dock to his patient and kind mannerisms to his outstanding recommendations of restaurants and boat captains was without parallel. He was an unexpected, albeit, welcomed part of the "Mare Blu Experience". It is not too often that I can say I was amazed by anything I've encountered. In my life, I have been at major sporting events, world renowned rock concerts and participated in things that most people only dream of. I find most other things in the world around me to be fairly mundane. My week at Mare Blu was amazing. While I am sure there are other houses in St. Johns that may have more bedrooms, bigger pools or finer artwork, I am confident in saying that none could have a more "spirited soul" than Mare Blu. As I sit here and contemplate heading to California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Atlanta over the next several weeks, it is the thought that I will be returning to St. John and Mare Blu in the future that brings a smile to my face and warm feeling to my heart. In January, my husband and I spent a week at Mare Blu with several other couples. I was absolutely awestruck the first time I set foot in this striking vacation home. Everywhere you look there are spectacular ocean views framed in brilliant color by a rambling garden of native plants. These stunning views not only extended to our bedroom with the private screened porch but beyond to our luxurious bathroom with the outdoor shower. Every room is beautifully furnished and decorated yet sill inviting and comfortable. And you can't have too many cooks in the kitchen here. The kitchen is big, beautiful and has every imaginable moder convenience, including two dishwashers and every pot, pan, gadget, and utensil one could ever need or want..and then some. I loved this kitchen so much that it actually inspired me to bake on my vacation, an unprecedented event. At the center of Mare Blu is an enormous outdoor patio filled with cozy lounge chairs, chaises and couches We spent much of our time in this wonderful space...reading, swimming, eating and socializing while taking in the beauty of the Caribbean. My husband, beer in hand, found his personal heaven-on-earth while watching football on the outdoor big screen from a float in the pool. "It doesn't get better than this" he said. FANTASTIC HOUSE My family loved Mare Blu. There are 12 of us, the house was perfect. It was designed so everyone has space and the outdoor living room was wonderful. We ate all of our dinners there, and spent most of our house time there. Tori the local manager, was always available to help. We have been to St. John 9 times, Mare Blu was the Best Ever!!
