Perfect Spot for Hosting our Dream Wedding The unsung hero award goes to Teri and Mare Blu. Not only did it make for the most picturesque backdrop for our wedding ceremony but our guests were in awe at beautiful and functional the villa was. Location was perfect for the sunset wedding ceremony as well as easy access to and from for our guests staying in and around Cruz Bay. Teri was not only active making sure the villa was in perfect condition for our visit but she was also a great resource for the months leading up to the wedding with recommendations for reliable jeep rental( Mr. Piper's) and restaurant recommendations. The layout of the space was ideal for any situation. We were able to host a 23 person rehearsal dinner with a long family style table in the great outdoor space. My brothers roasted us with a slideshow on the TV by the pool. All were able to huddle around and observe. Then we hosted a 37 person ceremony down on the lawn. I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. It was quiet so it was easy to concentrate. The property was carefully designed with the highest level of finishes both inside and out. It is impeccably maintained. My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. Mare Blu provided a beautiful, serene setting for our recent 50th anniversary celebration with family. The manager met us promptly upon arrival and made us immediately feel at home. The villa was luxurious and so well-appointed that it would be difficult to want anything more. The large outdoor dining and indoor living areas created an atmosphere in which our family was able to enjoy memorable conversations and meals together without interruptions. And, the opportunity to enjoy a cup of early-morning coffee on the patio or to swim under the stars in a pool overlooking the ocean was priceless. The downside of this trip was that it was far too short. A week just wasn't long enough to fully experience the beautiful scenery and uncrowded beaches that St. John has to offer. First class, comfortable, beautifully and well appointed, spaces to come together or to spend quiet time...all with ever changing views of Rendezvous Bay or the Milky Way. A very hearty thank you for opening your fantastic house to us! Arriving down your driveway and through the gates into that oasis propelled a very excited group to new heights of enthusiasm. We were in the pool within minutes, with the dreamlike view of the Caribbean below and twinkling lights of St. Croix beyond. Every aspect of the home was comfortable to the point of luxurious and conducive to both privacy and group living. From the well-equipped indoor and outdoor kitchens, the en-suite bedrooms, and multiple outdoor living spaces, it was hard to decide where to hang out, although the perfectly sited infinity pool almost always won. Among many stand-out moments, an image of all the men in our group floating for hours in the pool one gorgeous Sunday afternoon while watching football on the large-screen television in the outdoor tv area highlights the pure relaxation and all-you-could-wish-for ambiance of the entire week. Every amenity you could desire provided in a brochure-quality setting. Dining at the expansive outdoor table and gathering afterward on the covered terrace (before inevitably ending up back in the pool) each evening was the stuff of dreams only to be surpassed by waking up the following morning to balmy breezes and panoramic views of a sparkling Caribbean, framed by hibiscus and bougainvillea. I have just returned from a week in Paradise! I travelled with a group of 6 couples to Mare Blue in May of 2018. We were a little nervous, being post-hurricane, but I have to say Mare Blu was exactly as I had remembered from my first visit in 2014. The villa is beautiful, and perfectly appointed for a group of 12. The people of St John were welcoming and the beaches beautiful. We took advantage of so much...diving trips, fishing trips, island hopping and of course shopping! My advise is to go and enjoy all the island has to offer. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. FANTASTIC FAMILY RENTAL!!! This gorgeous house was very spacious and extremely well equipped-perfect for our extended family vacation. The outdoor living spaces were wonderful for enjoying the incredible views and island breezes-we ate every meal outside. The design, decor and furnishings were top notch-it was clear that much thought went into every design decision. The kitchen was amazing, perfectly planned and equipped with everything we needed to create delicious meals. We loved spending time in the pool and lounge area. The villa is perfectly situated close to town and beaches. This was our ninth family trip to St. John-we have stayed in nine different villas on St. John and this one was our favorite!!! Read More...
