A group of good friends (11 in all) stayed at Mare Blu and had a great time. The accommodations and the beauty of the villa is comparable to a high end resort. It's all at Mare Blu, several rooms and outdoor spaces to gather and not always be on top of each other. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed to enjoy a casual breakfast, lunch or an elegant dinner. The individual bedrooms (6) are perfect with individual air conditioning, over head ceiling fan, TV and a well-appointed bathroom.That said, you won't stay in your room, it's way to much fun to swim in the infinity pool, watch TV while in the pool, drink and enjoy the magnificent views. OPULENCE I went to Mare Blu Villa for a week with my friends, and it just blew all my expectations away. I had seen the pictures on the internet and expected the place to be good. But this place was perfect in every way. It is an amazing villa that has an awesome view of Rendevous Bay with all the facilities you can possibly need when you're on vacation. Whether you want to doze off on the floats, watch TV in the pool, or have dinner in the outdoor dining room, Mare Blu has it all! Each bedroom is like a room in a five-star hotel, everything is new and made from the best materials. It's located a short drive away from the main town on the island and getting places was easy by car. Everything that St. John has to offer - lots of sun, uncrowded beautiful beaches, hiking and snorkeling, and enjoying a nice cocktail with a fabulous view - is complemented and made better by having your own luxurious place to make the experience perfect. Teri Ackerman, the owner of Mare Blu, is the best. She is extremely competent and easy to work with. Her understanding of families and how memories are made are reflected in the design of her villa. The kitchen, grilling area, dining area and gathering space all followed together as one beautiful family area which then seamlessly flowed to the deck and pool (what a great pool). I would be grilling and having a conversation with my wife Debby in the kitchen, turn and talk to my daughter at the dining room table as she showed me photos from the days dive, turn just a little more and watch my grandson in the pool. It does not get any better than that. Yet Teri created a place of sanctuary in each bedroom. They are spacious and almost mini suites as there is setting areas in each bedroom. Teri left no stone unturned in equipping the villa with top of the line appliances. Her ice maker keep ahead of 12 people. Enough dishes, glasses etc. to meet the needs of a group of 20 or more. I'm just looking over the photo album of my daughter's wedding, last August, and Mare Blu was the absolute highlight of our week. We hosted 25 people every evening for a party where everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We were able to do our own cooking, the views are breathtaking, and most of the guests just wanted to hang around the pool. The Westin Hotel took care of the wedding ceremony and reception but everything else was at Mare Blu. It would be my first choice for vacation or any kind of celebration at any time of the year. We remain so grateful to the owners of the house for their generosity. It was even more spectacular than we imagined and one of the highlights of our entire lives! Since 6 couples chipped in, the cost was much less than the local hotels and we did not have to eat out every night. My family will definitely go back to St. John, specifically for Mare Blu. What a great vacation we had. This was everyone's first stay here, hopefully not our last! We are flying back home with a lifetime of memories: snorkeling with green turtles, dinner by private chefs, unbelievable views, amazing accommodations and time with family and friends where we had no worries. This villa was the absolute perfect place to share our spring break with our friends. A bird's-eye view of Rendezvous ay made a beautiful backdrop for my morning coffee and relaxing with a book around the pool. Our kids had plenty of room to spread out, swim and enjoy movies in the outdoor television area. Totally Enjoyed We had a wonderful time at Mare Blu and totally enjoyed everyday, every sunrise and sunset, watching the color change on Rendezvous bay. Our entire party appreciated the multiple spaces and amenities. The bedrooms were great, the bathrooms even better. We loved the outdoor shower in our room. Mare Blu is a wonderful spot to take in the beauty of St. John, especially on the large rotating furniture located in the room overlooking the pool and ocean. Beautiful Villa with AMAZING view! We fell in love with St. John and LOVED everything about Mare Blu. From the colorful decor, furnishings, location and view, this property lived up ans surpassed every expectation we had. The layout of the home was perfect for our group of 4 couples(family). I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. It was quiet so it was easy to concentrate. The property was carefully designed with the highest level of finishes both inside and out. It is impeccably maintained. It is obvious that the owners strive to make sure that their guests have a carefree vacation experience with the highest level of luxury. Read More...
