A very hearty thank you for opening your fantastic house to us! Arriving down your driveway and through the gates into that oasis propelled a very excited group to new heights of enthusiasm. We were in the pool within minutes, with the dreamlike view of the Caribbean below and twinkling lights of St. Croix beyond. Every aspect of the home was comfortable to the point of luxurious and conducive to both privacy and group living. From the well-equipped indoor and outdoor kitchens, the en-suite bedrooms, and multiple outdoor living spaces, it was hard to decide where to hang out, although the perfectly sited infinity pool almost always won. Among many stand-out moments, an image of all the men in our group floating for hours in the pool one gorgeous Sunday afternoon while watching football on the large-screen television in the outdoor tv area highlights the pure relaxation and all-you-could-wish-for ambiance of the entire week. Every amenity you could desire provided in a brochure-quality setting. Dining at the expansive outdoor table and gathering afterward on the covered terrace (before inevitably ending up back in the pool) each evening was the stuff of dreams only to be surpassed by waking up the following morning to balmy breezes and panoramic views of a sparkling Caribbean, framed by hibiscus and bougainvillea. Hi Guys I hope you are doing well. We are in St. John this week and drive by Mare Blu everyday as the house we rented is past Mare Blu. We are a group of 17 people. Same group as last year plus one additional family. We are having a great time, but DEFINITELY MISS Mare Blu. The house we rented is called Eco Serendib. Villa was perfect for our family. The villa was beautiful and fully met and exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our children and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy time together and areas to get away and read. Hi, just had to drop you a note to tell you how much we all LOVED your villa last week. Have been coming to St. John for 24 years, we LOVE the island and must say your home was the best EVER!! We were a group of six couples (family) and we were just blown away by the attention to every detail in your beautiful home!!! Best Family vacation ever. Loved it. First quality amenities from top to bottom. We have stayed in St John several times and this villa was the finest quality home we have stayed in. Great pool that was a joy to cool off in late in the afternoon after a glorious day at the beach. The outdoor room was the gathering point every evening for rum punch and, eventually, dinner. Finally, the bedrooms were a quiet sanctuary. This goes back to quality of this villa. When you closed a door in your bedroom you felt tucked in for the night. OPULENCE I went to Mare Blu Villa for a week with my friends, and it just blew all my expectations away. I had seen the pictures on the internet and expected the place to be good. But this place was perfect in every way. It is an amazing villa that has an awesome view of Rendevous Bay with all the facilities you can possibly need when you're on vacation. Whether you want to doze off on the floats, watch TV in the pool, or have dinner in the outdoor dining room, Mare Blu has it all! Each bedroom is like a room in a five-star hotel, everything is new and made from the best materials. It's located a short drive away from the main town on the island and getting places was easy by car. Everything that St. John has to offer - lots of sun, uncrowded beautiful beaches, hiking and snorkeling, and enjoying a nice cocktail with a fabulous view - is complemented and made better by having your own luxurious place to make the experience perfect. Just got back from a week at Mare Blu! Wow, were we impressed! We had five couples for a 50th birthday. The layout of the home is fantastic. Very spacious, quiet and comfortable. All the bedrooms are private with a private bath. The house is clean and updated. Far enough out of town for the privacy, but close enough for the convenience. Our favorite place to hang out was the outdoor kitchen/living area as well as the pool. We would highly recommend Mare Blu to anyone considering a stay on St John. My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. We're still a little shocked at just how amazing Mare Blu is. From design, to service, to location, this place has it all. The layout is perfect for small or large groups: There are comfortable and functional commons areas like the kitchen and outdoor eating area, but there is also sanctuary for any guest in each of the wings and bedrooms. This means that if you want to retire early, you won't be disturbed by the night-owls - it also means that the kids won't wake everyone up when they want to go swimming at 7am. The kitchen and BBQ were amazing - we put them to great use! The infinity pool was also incredible - the kids went swimming in the pool no less than 3x/day - and what a view! Also, the media room that overlooked the pool was well-stocked with DVD's and access to hundreds of channels. Finally, it was the small design details that made Mare Blu such a pleasure - from the colors, to skylights, to placement of certain rooms and amenities - it was obvious that quite a bit of thought went into design. Our hosts were amazing - from the owner to the concierge. They were highly responsive, friendly and accommodating. Justin is great - he tried his best to find us some fresh fish! Some of us have been to St. John before so we knew our way around - but if it's your first time, you'll be in great hands. Additionally, everything was well-stocked and prepared for a first-class visit. Finally, the location was perfect, we were just close enough to town or the market for a quick trip - but far enough away to enjoy the views and tranquility that the island is known for. The bottom line is that we loved everything about Mare Blu, and we'd recommend it to anyone - as long as we don't have to compete with you to book our next trip. Read More...
