7/14-7/21 4 adults, 2 children, ages 5 and 15 months Our time at Mare Blu was perfect and amazingly restful. The main house living area was very comfortable and the kitchen is probably better appointed than your own home with drink glasses, plates, bowls and cutlery for every taste, shape and size. We seldomly went to town and did our cooking, drinking and concocting at the villa. The kitchen and outdoor cooking area, complete with its own set of plastic break proof glasses and cooking utensils, made staying in a pleasure. In the evening we put the kids to bed and played cards in the various outdoor lounges and listened to music or just the natural surrounding chirping away. The bed rooms were spacious and beds were very comfortable. The bathrooms are all beautiful. I opted for the outdoor showers most days. In regards to hosts, Teri was amazingly attentive during the booking phase, in the weeks leading up to departure and she even called on the second day to be sure we were enjoying ourselves and to answer any questions. In regards to the onsite property manager, Justin, all I can say is he is worth every dime. Justin met us at our boat, led us to Mare Blu and spent an hour walking the property with us to show us all of the nooks and crannies. Throughout the week we had a few questions and Justin would give us info or go about helping us track down what we were looking for. "You want lobsters? I know a fishing boat captain. I have just returned from a week in Paradise! I travelled with a group of 6 couples to Mare Blue in May of 2018. We were a little nervous, being post-hurricane, but I have to say Mare Blu was exactly as I had remembered from my first visit in 2014. The villa is beautiful, and perfectly appointed for a group of 12. The people of St John were welcoming and the beaches beautiful. We took advantage of so much...diving trips, fishing trips, island hopping and of course shopping! My advise is to go and enjoy all the island has to offer. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. PERFECTION!!! If we were told we could use only one word to describe our experience at Mare Blu, it would be perfect! The owners have successfully incorporated the beauty, colors and cheerfulness of the Carribean in every room of this incredibly thoughtout house. Comfort and uniqueness abound in the decor, each room is amazingly private, yet there are incredible open and inviting areas for gatherings, all with the most incredible views. Every detail has been provided for, and once you've done a little grocery shopping, you literally do not ever have to leave the house. The location is a huge plus-everything is within easy driving distance. Mare Blu proved to be the perfect home for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving 2015. We have visited St. John before, and this trip was by far the most memorable and luxurious. The villa was close enough to town but far enough to provide seclusion and a gorgeous view of the bay. The villa itself was very well appointed from the kitchen to entertainment, offering everything you might need. I was able to easily prepare meals that we enjoyed around the large dining table. The second outdoor kitchen area and outdoor fridge drawers were terrific. The spacious guest suites allowed everyone to retreat to their own space if they wanted privacy or alone time. There was ample room for our family of 9 adults! The beautiful pool was also a huge hit. Teri was wonderful to work with and always answered my questions promptly. This villa was the absolute perfect place to share our spring break with our friends. A bird's-eye view of Rendezvous ay made a beautiful backdrop for my morning coffee and relaxing with a book around the pool. Our kids had plenty of room to spread out, swim and enjoy movies in the outdoor television area. We're still a little shocked at just how amazing Mare Blu is. From design, to service, to location, this place has it all. The layout is perfect for small or large groups: There are comfortable and functional commons areas like the kitchen and outdoor eating area, but there is also sanctuary for any guest in each of the wings and bedrooms. This means that if you want to retire early, you won't be disturbed by the night-owls - it also means that the kids won't wake everyone up when they want to go swimming at 7am. The kitchen and BBQ were amazing - we put them to great use! The infinity pool was also incredible - the kids went swimming in the pool no less than 3x/day - and what a view! Also, the media room that overlooked the pool was well-stocked with DVD's and access to hundreds of channels. Finally, it was the small design details that made Mare Blu such a pleasure - from the colors, to skylights, to placement of certain rooms and amenities - it was obvious that quite a bit of thought went into design. Our hosts were amazing - from the owner to the concierge. They were highly responsive, friendly and accommodating. Justin is great - he tried his best to find us some fresh fish! Some of us have been to St. John before so we knew our way around - but if it's your first time, you'll be in great hands. Additionally, everything was well-stocked and prepared for a first-class visit. Finally, the location was perfect, we were just close enough to town or the market for a quick trip - but far enough away to enjoy the views and tranquility that the island is known for. FANTASTIC HOUSE My family loved Mare Blu. There are 12 of us, the house was perfect. It was designed so everyone has space and the outdoor living room was wonderful. We ate all of our dinners there, and spent most of our house time there. Tori the local manager, was always available to help. We have been to St. John 9 times, Mare Blu was the Best Ever!! Teri and Bernie, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. It was the perfect place for our family, which included our children and grandchildren, to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. Each family had their own wing to escape to after a long day at the beach or play time in the beautiful pool. They especially enjoyed the optional outdoor shower. The gathering place each morning was the outdoor kitchen, where we enjoyed breakfast at the large table while looking at the ocean. One evening we hired a personal chef who cooked us a birthday celebration dinner and served it in the outdoor kitchen as well. We also hired a steel drum player. The indoor kitchen has everything you need, including two dishwashers an oversize refrigerator and a beautiful sink that had a window which again overlooked the ocean. There was also an outdoor TV room which was next to the pool. It had two oversized chairs and a beverage cooler which made it very convenient for keeping our drinks of "choice" cold. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse Club while standing in the pool. (What a life!). The bathroom was also part of this great area so there was no need to walk into the house. We also enjoyed gathering here in the evening where we would pull chairs around and watch movies outside. This was probably our favorite room. If you needed a space to escape for some quiet time there was the beautiful indoor living room which included a large balcony. Here we could enjoy our coffee in the morning or a quiet glass of wine in the evening away from the activity in the pool area. Of course during any vacation doing laundry is a must. I must admit doing laundry was a joy especially when doing it in a well stocked laundry room and again with a beautiful view of the ocean. Villa was perfect for our family. The villa was beautiful and fully met and exceeded our expectations. We were traveling with our children and grandchildren and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy time together and areas to get away and read.
