Mare Blu was amazing! Expectations were exceeded! You often wonder if it can be as great as the pictures. Mare Blu is amazing. The views would make any postcard jealous. The bedrooms were specious with their own luxurious bathrooms. The outdoor entertainment areas and the infinity pool made it hard to leave to go explore the spectacular island of St. John. Our week at Mare Blu with dear friends will top the list of vacations of a lifetime. We say that with all sincerity as frequent global travelers. The owners checked with us prior to and during our stay. our satisfaction was a priority for them. The concierge service/property management company was excellent. My recent stay at Mare Blu Villa was an unforgettable experience that far exceeded all my expectations for a luxury vacation. This opulent oceanfront villa in St. John offered not just comfort but extraordinary embrace of beauty and tranquility. March weather in St. John was perfect, with clear sunny skies and a gentle ocean breeze, which made every day at the villa purely delightful. The infinity edge pool, blending into the horizon, became my serene retreat. Lounging by the pool, I was treated to the villa’s breathtaking ocean views, which were nothing short of spectacular. The sight of the sun dipping below the ocean in the evening was a daily spectacle I looked forward to. The villa itself is just a short drive from some of the world’s top beach’s, which promised and delivered crystal-clean waters and pristine sands. Despite the allure of these famous beach’s, the luxury and comfort of Mare Blu made it tempting to stay put and soak in the peaceful atmosphere. Every aspect of the villa, from its spacious and elegantly furnished interiors to its expansive terraces, seemed designed to ensure that guests would never want to leave. Teri Ackerman, the owner of Mare Blu, is the best. She is extremely competent and easy to work with. Her understanding of families and how memories are made are reflected in the design of her villa. The kitchen, grilling area, dining area and gathering space all followed together as one beautiful family area which then seamlessly flowed to the deck and pool (what a great pool). I would be grilling and having a conversation with my wife Debby in the kitchen, turn and talk to my daughter at the dining room table as she showed me photos from the days dive, turn just a little more and watch my grandson in the pool. It does not get any better than that. Yet Teri created a place of sanctuary in each bedroom. They are spacious and almost mini suites as there is setting areas in each bedroom. Teri left no stone unturned in equipping the villa with top of the line appliances. Her ice maker keep ahead of 12 people. Enough dishes, glasses etc. to meet the needs of a group of 20 or more. PERFECT FAMILY VACATION AT MARE BLU ON ST. JOHN Our family of ten, age six months to sixtyish, enjoyed a perfect week on S. John at beautiful Mare Blu! This our first visit with the whole family since the hurricanes. It was gratifying to see that nature prevails as does the spirit of the people of St. John.We spent perfect days at Hawksnest, Francis, Trunk and our favorite Maho Bay with its turtles! We also added a new beach to our list, Hanson. Dinners at Morgan's Mango and lunches at The Tap Room and Skinny Legs were fun and delicious. Everyone LOVED Mare Blu! The villa is beautifully designed: elegant with attention to every detail yet comfortable and accommodating. There are specious living areas, indoors and out, lovely bedrooms, some with screened verandas and outdoor showers, all with splendid views looking out toward St. Croix. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor dining area were great for our breakfasts and some dinners. The swimming pool was wonderful for the children in the late afternoons and illuminated our evenings sometimes inviting late night swims. The location of the villa was private and quiet yet a convenient drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches. Mare Blu would definitely be our first choice for a return stay on St. John with our family or some friends. Read More...

This villa was the absolute perfect place to share our spring break with our friends. A bird's-eye view of Rendezvous ay made a beautiful backdrop for my morning coffee and relaxing with a book around the pool. Our kids had plenty of room to spread out, swim and enjoy movies in the outdoor television area. PERFECT LOCATION FOR TWO FAMILIES OR MULTIPLE COUPLES! We stayed here the week of July 4th. We could not have been happier.The house has everything: infinity pool, tv's everywhere (although we rarely used them, we would rather look out at the ocean), fully appointed kitchen, including ice maker, multiple stoves and dishwashers. My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. Mare Blu was the perfect place for us and our wedding party to stay! First class, comfortable, beautifully and well appointed, spaces to come together or to spend quiet time...all with ever changing views of Rendezvous Bay or the Milky Way. We used recommendations from the Mare Blu website to connect with our planner (Paradise Planning), caterer (Passionfruit Chefs), and photographer (Blue Glass Photography)...all of whom exceeded our expectations. A very hearty thank you for opening your fantastic house to us! Arriving down your driveway and through the gates into that oasis propelled a very excited group to new heights of enthusiasm. We were in the pool within minutes, with the dreamlike view of the Caribbean below and twinkling lights of St. Croix beyond. Every aspect of the home was comfortable to the point of luxurious and conducive to both privacy and group living. From the well-equipped indoor and outdoor kitchens, the en-suite bedrooms, and multiple outdoor living spaces, it was hard to decide where to hang out, although the perfectly sited infinity pool almost always won. Among many stand-out moments, an image of all the men in our group floating for hours in the pool one gorgeous Sunday afternoon while watching football on the large-screen television in the outdoor tv area highlights the pure relaxation and all-you-could-wish-for ambiance of the entire week. Every amenity you could desire provided in a brochure-quality setting. Dining at the expansive outdoor table and gathering afterward on the covered terrace (before inevitably ending up back in the pool) each evening was the stuff of dreams only to be surpassed by waking up the following morning to balmy breezes and panoramic views of a sparkling Caribbean, framed by hibiscus and bougainvillea. PERFECTION!!! If we were told we could use only one word to describe our experience at Mare Blu, it would be perfect! The owners have successfully incorporated the beauty, colors and cheerfulness of the Carribean in every room of this incredibly thoughtout house. Comfort and uniqueness abound in the decor, each room is amazingly private, yet there are incredible open and inviting areas for gatherings, all with the most incredible views. Every detail has been provided for, and once you've done a little grocery shopping, you literally do not ever have to leave the house. The location is a huge plus-everything is within easy driving distance.
