SMARTLY DESIGNED, SPACIOUS, LUXURIOUS...MARE BLU HAS IT ALL The week I recently spent with friends at the Mare Blu Villa was one of the best vacations I've ever taken. Tucked away in a private corner of Rendezveau Bay, Mare Blu is just a 10 minute drive to Cruz Bay, balancing accessibility and convenience with lavish seclusion. With six bedrooms and nearly 10,000 square feet of space, the resort comfortably accommodated our group of seven guests. I found the villa to have everything we needed, and we even elected to spend a couple days of our 8-day trip hanging out at Mare Blu instead of goin to one of the many neighboring beaches. Among the many smartly designed areas of the villa, I found the pool area to be my favorite part of the house. With a fridge, ice machine and HDTV located in an outdoor lounge area, we had access to everything we needed just a few steps away from the pool. The bedrooms were clean, comfortable and uniquely themed with some of the rooms boasting outdoor showers. We cooked dinner several nights in the kitchen, which had modern top-of-the line appliances and a cozy outdoor dining area. FANTASTIC HOUSE My family loved Mare Blu. There are 12 of us, the house was perfect. It was designed so everyone has space and the outdoor living room was wonderful. We ate all of our dinners there, and spent most of our house time there. Tori the local manager, was always available to help. We have been to St. John 9 times, Mare Blu was the Best Ever!! My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. A very hearty thank you for opening your fantastic house to us! Arriving down your driveway and through the gates into that oasis propelled a very excited group to new heights of enthusiasm. We were in the pool within minutes, with the dreamlike view of the Caribbean below and twinkling lights of St. Croix beyond. Every aspect of the home was comfortable to the point of luxurious and conducive to both privacy and group living. From the well-equipped indoor and outdoor kitchens, the en-suite bedrooms, and multiple outdoor living spaces, it was hard to decide where to hang out, although the perfectly sited infinity pool almost always won. Among many stand-out moments, an image of all the men in our group floating for hours in the pool one gorgeous Sunday afternoon while watching football on the large-screen television in the outdoor tv area highlights the pure relaxation and all-you-could-wish-for ambiance of the entire week. Every amenity you could desire provided in a brochure-quality setting. Dining at the expansive outdoor table and gathering afterward on the covered terrace (before inevitably ending up back in the pool) each evening was the stuff of dreams only to be surpassed by waking up the following morning to balmy breezes and panoramic views of a sparkling Caribbean, framed by hibiscus and bougainvillea. I spent a wonderful weel at Mare Blu. It surpassed all of my expectations. It is beautifully designed so that even when you are inside, you feel as if you are outside. Atlhough the interior spaces have air conditioning, the rooms are open to the outside looking over Rendezvous Bay and the Caribbean. There are ceiling fans throughout. The steady breeze was relaxing and comfortable at all times of day. The exterior living space is spacious, welcoming, and relaxing. It is a glorious place to eat, swim, read, and relax. Everything you needs is there. Although I had to work while I was at Mare Blu (writing and on the telephone), I found it to be the most comfortable place I have ever worked, or ever been for that matter. It was quiet so it was easy to concentrate. The property was carefully designed with the highest level of finishes both inside and out. It is impeccably maintained. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. So many great and comfortable locations to relax and take in the sunrise and sunset or get some sun or shade. I cannot say enough great things about this home and can NOT wait to return. PERFECT LOCATION FOR TWO FAMILIES OR MULTIPLE COUPLES! We stayed here the week of July 4th. We could not have been happier.The house has everything: infinity pool, tv's everywhere (although we rarely used them, we would rather look out at the ocean), fully appointed kitchen, including ice maker, multiple stoves and dishwashers. We stayed at Mare Blu to celebrate my twin daughters' birthday. We could not have imagined a more perfect setting for a celebration! The villa is a convenient drive to town, nestled on the lush hillside of St. John's South Shore. The pictures do not lie, there are vast ocean vistas available from every room. Mare Blu is nothing like the typical St. John villa (we've seen many of them personally): it is vibrantly decorated with rich color and artwork. Elegant, comfortable, well-designed and well-appointed are just a few of the characteristics of Mare Blu on St. John. Our extended family - ranging in age from early teens to mid-seventies - had a wonderful time. The pool is both beautiful and useful for lap swimming and playing. The well-designed and well-supplied kitchen allowed the chefs, sous-chefs, and grill masters to express themselves. Cable and Wi-Fi allow connection - if desired - to the outside world. The villa owner and the house manager were available, attentive and very helpful. The design of the villa allows for privacy, for view-watching and for multiple simultaneous, non-interfering activities. There are lovely places to sit and take in the view, read or do puzzles. Although a few weeks have passed since our vacation at Mare Blu, the peaceful atmosphere, the elegant accommodations and the beautiful vistas are still top of mind. Read More...
