My husband and I stayed at Mare Blu with friends in Jan. 2011. Absolutely unbelievable! Brand new and immaculate. Luxury in every creative, contemporary detail from bedding to the kitchen dishes and accessories. I felt like I had over indulged on a shopping spree to West Elm and Williams Sonoma! Spectacular views of Rendeovous Bay from every room, including the bathrooms with their indoor and outdoor showers! Great location with Cruz Bay 10 minutes down the hill and the National Park beaches ten minutes up the hill. Expensive, but for a six bedroom estate with so much class, it is worth every penny. Also, the owners offer a fair deal basing the rate on the number of bedrooms rented. We sat in the no chlorine infinity pool watching a gorgeous sunset on one side of the pool and the NFL playoffs on the other. I have just returned from a week in Paradise! I travelled with a group of 6 couples to Mare Blue in May of 2018. We were a little nervous, being post-hurricane, but I have to say Mare Blu was exactly as I had remembered from my first visit in 2014. The villa is beautiful, and perfectly appointed for a group of 12. The people of St John were welcoming and the beaches beautiful. We took advantage of so much...diving trips, fishing trips, island hopping and of course shopping! My advise is to go and enjoy all the island has to offer. A very hearty thank you for opening your fantastic house to us! Arriving down your driveway and through the gates into that oasis propelled a very excited group to new heights of enthusiasm. We were in the pool within minutes, with the dreamlike view of the Caribbean below and twinkling lights of St. Croix beyond. Every aspect of the home was comfortable to the point of luxurious and conducive to both privacy and group living. From the well-equipped indoor and outdoor kitchens, the en-suite bedrooms, and multiple outdoor living spaces, it was hard to decide where to hang out, although the perfectly sited infinity pool almost always won. Among many stand-out moments, an image of all the men in our group floating for hours in the pool one gorgeous Sunday afternoon while watching football on the large-screen television in the outdoor tv area highlights the pure relaxation and all-you-could-wish-for ambiance of the entire week. Every amenity you could desire provided in a brochure-quality setting. Dining at the expansive outdoor table and gathering afterward on the covered terrace (before inevitably ending up back in the pool) each evening was the stuff of dreams only to be surpassed by waking up the following morning to balmy breezes and panoramic views of a sparkling Caribbean, framed by hibiscus and bougainvillea. FANTASTIC FAMILY RENTAL!!! This gorgeous house was very spacious and extremely well equipped-perfect for our extended family vacation. The outdoor living spaces were wonderful for enjoying the incredible views and island breezes-we ate every meal outside. The design, decor and furnishings were top notch-it was clear that much thought went into every design decision. The kitchen was amazing, perfectly planned and equipped with everything we needed to create delicious meals. We loved spending time in the pool and lounge area. The villa is perfectly situated close to town and beaches. This was our ninth family trip to St. John-we have stayed in nine different villas on St. John and this one was our favorite!!! Mare Blu was amazing! Expectations were exceeded! You often wonder if it can be as great as the pictures. Mare Blu is amazing. The views would make any postcard jealous. The bedrooms were specious with their own luxurious bathrooms. The outdoor entertainment areas and the infinity pool made it hard to leave to go explore the spectacular island of St. John. Our week at Mare Blu with dear friends will top the list of vacations of a lifetime. We say that with all sincerity as frequent global travelers. The owners checked with us prior to and during our stay. our satisfaction was a priority for them. The concierge service/property management company was excellent. Teri and Bernie, Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home. It was the perfect place for our family, which included our children and grandchildren, to celebrate my husband's 60th Birthday. Each family had their own wing to escape to after a long day at the beach or play time in the beautiful pool. They especially enjoyed the optional outdoor shower. The gathering place each morning was the outdoor kitchen, where we enjoyed breakfast at the large table while looking at the ocean. One evening we hired a personal chef who cooked us a birthday celebration dinner and served it in the outdoor kitchen as well. We also hired a steel drum player. The indoor kitchen has everything you need, including two dishwashers an oversize refrigerator and a beautiful sink that had a window which again overlooked the ocean. There was also an outdoor TV room which was next to the pool. It had two oversized chairs and a beverage cooler which made it very convenient for keeping our drinks of "choice" cold. Our grandchildren especially enjoyed watching Mickey Mouse Club while standing in the pool. (What a life!). The bathroom was also part of this great area so there was no need to walk into the house. We also enjoyed gathering here in the evening where we would pull chairs around and watch movies outside. This was probably our favorite room. If you needed a space to escape for some quiet time there was the beautiful indoor living room which included a large balcony. Here we could enjoy our coffee in the morning or a quiet glass of wine in the evening away from the activity in the pool area. Of course during any vacation doing laundry is a must. I must admit doing laundry was a joy especially when doing it in a well stocked laundry room and again with a beautiful view of the ocean. Our last family vacation was 26 years ago but our trip to Mare Blu was well worth the wait. As we walked down the steps to the villa it got very quiet and the family members just looked at each other. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. The view was absolutely spectacular.Then 7 kids jumped into the pool and our vacation began. The pictures that you see on line show how beautiful the villa is, but they do not show the warmth and coziness that is Mare Blu. It is so spacious that even though there were 7 adults and 7 teens we all had our privacy and didn't ever get in each others way. But with the fabulous layout we were also together. I hope that makes sense. Our mornings were spent having breakfast together at the outdoor table with some relaxing in the pool and others reading along side it. We ate in every night thanks to my sons in law who are closeted chefs and the well appointed kitchen. The location of Mare Blu is just perfect. We were close to the beaches and the town but away from the bustle of both. Our host Teri had mentioned that we might find that we wanted to stay at the villa and she was right. While the snorkelers of the group went exploring the beaches the lazy ones relaxed at the villa and never felt deprived. We will not wait another 26 years to go on vacation together. Elegant, comfortable, well-designed and well-appointed are just a few of the characteristics of Mare Blu on St. John. Our extended family - ranging in age from early teens to mid-seventies - had a wonderful time. The pool is both beautiful and useful for lap swimming and playing. The well-designed and well-supplied kitchen allowed the chefs, sous-chefs, and grill masters to express themselves. Cable and Wi-Fi allow connection - if desired - to the outside world. The villa owner and the house manager were available, attentive and very helpful. The design of the villa allows for privacy, for view-watching and for multiple simultaneous, non-interfering activities. There are lovely places to sit and take in the view, read or do puzzles. Although a few weeks have passed since our vacation at Mare Blu, the peaceful atmosphere, the elegant accommodations and the beautiful vistas are still top of mind. Read More...

Elegantly Comfortable & Amazing Where to begin? Mare Blu is absolutely beautiful. There's not one square foot that isn't perfectly decorated as well as functional! The kitchen (inside and outside) is completely stocked with any & everything you could possibly want...Suitable for a chef! The bedrooms are all so roomy and the decor is unbelievable! loved the bathrooms too...very spacious!! The pool area and sitting area by the outside dining table were our two most favorite hangouts!! The description of Mare Blu for us is clearly Elegantly Comfortable!! This home could not have been more perfect for our group of 6 couples! The Best 50th birthday a girl could ever have!! In January, my husband and I spent a week at Mare Blu with several other couples. I was absolutely awestruck the first time I set foot in this striking vacation home. Everywhere you look there are spectacular ocean views framed in brilliant color by a rambling garden of native plants. These stunning views not only extended to our bedroom with the private screened porch but beyond to our luxurious bathroom with the outdoor shower. Every room is beautifully furnished and decorated yet sill inviting and comfortable. And you can't have too many cooks in the kitchen here. The kitchen is big, beautiful and has every imaginable moder convenience, including two dishwashers and every pot, pan, gadget, and utensil one could ever need or want..and then some. I loved this kitchen so much that it actually inspired me to bake on my vacation, an unprecedented event. At the center of Mare Blu is an enormous outdoor patio filled with cozy lounge chairs, chaises and couches We spent much of our time in this wonderful space...reading, swimming, eating and socializing while taking in the beauty of the Caribbean. My husband, beer in hand, found his personal heaven-on-earth while watching football on the outdoor big screen from a float in the pool. "It doesn't get better than this" he said. Every evening, we listened to music blended frozen drinks and gathered around the big patio dining table for our version of happy hour...happy hourZZZ! This is the ultimate vacation house.
