Mare Blu is easily the most serene, equipped, modern and luxurious villa we've visited. LUXURY- RETREAT WITH NO DETAIL OVERLOOKED!! Mare Blu was everything we envisioned our luxury rental to be and even more. No detail has been overlooked. From the wonderful linens and towels, to comfortable furniture and a perfectly stocked kitchen, even down to the outside lighting! Teri & Bernie did not miss any opportunity to make this home comfortable and inviting. They are absolutely a joy to work with and the concierge, Drew , continues that professionalism during our stay. The layout of the home gives everyone plenty of space to gather and yet, opportunity to relax in privacy if you choose. We had two families with 7 teens and college aged kids and never felt on top of each other or too much in the kids space. Mare Blu proved to be the perfect home for our family to celebrate Thanksgiving 2015. We have visited St. John before, and this trip was by far the most memorable and luxurious. The villa was close enough to town but far enough to provide seclusion and a gorgeous view of the bay. The villa itself was very well appointed from the kitchen to entertainment, offering everything you might need. I was able to easily prepare meals that we enjoyed around the large dining table. The second outdoor kitchen area and outdoor fridge drawers were terrific. The spacious guest suites allowed everyone to retreat to their own space if they wanted privacy or alone time. There was ample room for our family of 9 adults! The beautiful pool was also a huge hit. Teri was wonderful to work with and always answered my questions promptly. Friends and I spent my 40th Birthday week celebration at Mare Blu and it was more than I ever expected!! St. John is my favorite Caribbean spot and this house tops all other stays in the past(villas, Caneel Bay, locations on St. Thomas). It was a shame that we did not have more people (we had 6) because we wanted to share the experience with the rest of our friends! The house is amazing with every amenity(we couldn't think of anything we were missing). A fabulous view and convenient to town. We fell in love with Mare Blu and will definitely be back!! PERFECT FAMILY VACATION AT MARE BLU ON ST. JOHN Our family of ten, age six months to sixtyish, enjoyed a perfect week on S. John at beautiful Mare Blu! This our first visit with the whole family since the hurricanes. It was gratifying to see that nature prevails as does the spirit of the people of St. John.We spent perfect days at Hawksnest, Francis, Trunk and our favorite Maho Bay with its turtles! We also added a new beach to our list, Hanson. Dinners at Morgan's Mango and lunches at The Tap Room and Skinny Legs were fun and delicious. Everyone LOVED Mare Blu! The villa is beautifully designed: elegant with attention to every detail yet comfortable and accommodating. There are specious living areas, indoors and out, lovely bedrooms, some with screened verandas and outdoor showers, all with splendid views looking out toward St. Croix. The well equipped kitchen and outdoor dining area were great for our breakfasts and some dinners. The swimming pool was wonderful for the children in the late afternoons and illuminated our evenings sometimes inviting late night swims. The location of the villa was private and quiet yet a convenient drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches. We stayed at Mare Blu to celebrate my twin daughters' birthday. We could not have imagined a more perfect setting for a celebration! The villa is a convenient drive to town, nestled on the lush hillside of St. John's South Shore. The pictures do not lie, there are vast ocean vistas available from every room. Mare Blu is nothing like the typical St. John villa (we've seen many of them personally): it is vibrantly decorated with rich color and artwork. Our group (9 friends) stayed at Mare Blu in May 2015. We had a fantastic time and Teri was very helpful before the trip in arranging activities, a private chef, and taxi transfers. The villa is beautiful, with every amenity you could want - beer fridge by the pool was a big hit, as was the outdoor Ts! Check in was very easy and professional, taking no more than 15mins or so. The house was immaculate and perfectly arranged for a large group. There is so much space that we all felt very comfortable and relaxed there. The pictures are exactly as shown on the website and the house location is perfect. Far enough from town to have beautiful, untouched views across the island, yet close enough for a 10min taxi ride into the center of town. The northern beaches were also not that far away maybe 15-20mins in total. Chicos Taxi (Mitch Samuel at 340-690-6507) was on call for us the entire time and always just a phone call away. Chef Johnny B (jrbluzbag@yahoo.com) was fantastic and the food was cooked at the villas professional indoor/outdoor kitchen to perfection. The villa has every single thing a professional chef needs, and easily caters to large groups looking for a relaxing night overlooking the stunning views. Checkout was also easy, with a wonderful cleaning crew arriving exactly on time. We couldnt have been happier with our stay at Mare Blu and would be happy to act as a reference for any future guests. Loved it. First quality amenities from top to bottom. We have stayed in St John several times and this villa was the finest quality home we have stayed in. Great pool that was a joy to cool off in late in the afternoon after a glorious day at the beach. The outdoor room was the gathering point every evening for rum punch and, eventually, dinner. Finally, the bedrooms were a quiet sanctuary. This goes back to quality of this villa. When you closed a door in your bedroom you felt tucked in for the night. What can someone say who just had one of the greatest vacations of their entire life, besides "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart. My work life and career are incredibly exhausting. Being in the broadcast television business, there are no "off-days". Every single event we do is a moment in time that cannot be pushed back, extended or redone. The pressure, at times, can be overwhelming. Vacation for me has traditionally involved my family enjoying themselves with pool time, activities and relaxation. I spent the majority of my time on the phone, computer or conference calls. Not this trip. From the moment I walked down the stairs to your beautiful home, I felt every ounce of tension leave my body. The next seven days were nothing short of transformative for me. Every part of your home, from the pool to the kitchen to the outdoor shower, allowed me to completely "forget who I was" for a little while. An amazing feat that has never-before been accomplished! Justin was, well, amazing. His smile and welcoming presence on the dock to his patient and kind mannerisms to his outstanding recommendations of restaurants and boat captains was without parallel. He was an unexpected, albeit, welcomed part of the "Mare Blu Experience". It is not too often that I can say I was amazed by anything I've encountered. In my life, I have been at major sporting events, world renowned rock concerts and participated in things that most people only dream of. I find most other things in the world around me to be fairly mundane. My week at Mare Blu was amazing. While I am sure there are other houses in St. Johns that may have more bedrooms, bigger pools or finer artwork, I am confident in saying that none could have a more "spirited soul" than Mare Blu. As I sit here and contemplate heading to California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Atlanta over the next several weeks, it is the thought that I will be returning to St. John and Mare Blu in the future that brings a smile to my face and warm feeling to my heart.
